2022WP開催報告

The 2022 TISA Welcome Party was hosted by the Tokyo Institute of Technology and was managed by TISA. The event is organized by a collaboration between TISA, SAGE, ACTION, and is supported by Tokyo Tech Alumni Association （Kuramae） and Student supporting division.

A welcome party is held each semester to integrate all her international students within the Tokyo tech community. We aim to give initial hospitality that reaches out and positively pulls all international students to the comfort of a welcoming environment.

The welcome party was held after an interval of two years due to the pandamic. As the pandamic heading to end and lots of international students managed to come to Japan, we decided to hold the party. Although there are still a lot of restrictiions concerning the pandamic, the party was held in a safe and a balanced way for people to enjoy.

The 2022 Welcome Party was attended by over 100 new students, current students, staff, graduates, and friends. It included many fun games, interactive activities with complimetary snacks and amazing prizes. The university president Masu and Tokyo Tech Alumni Association （Kuramae） representative Ido gave a welcome message. Participants enjoyed gaming, dancing, snacks and Tapioka drinks.

* TISA(Tokyo tech International Student Association) gathers all international students in Tokyo tech. Aim to connect and support international students within their university life. We work to enhance this multicultural experience at Tokyo tech.

"I attended this reception party because I wanted to get involved with international students. I also felt that I could expand my human network by talking to other people out of my group. At the party, we were divided into several groups, where we had conversations and played mini-games to deepen our interactions. Everyone was easy to talk to and friendly. Even though my English was not good enough, I enjoyed conversations very much. I will continue to take advantage of opportunities like this in the future."

Comments from TISA Welcome Party chief executives Jiatong YU and Jiayi YU (School of Materials and Chemical Technology, Master first year):
This was the first TISA in-person event in two years. It was not easy to hold such an event during the pandemic. We are glad that the participants seemed to have enjoyed it. I hope that the participants can make new friends and will make use of the opportunity of this welcome party for their future networking.
TISA received generous support from the Tokyo Tech Alumni Association （Kuramae） Association and the student support division. I would also like to thank all the TISA members and friends who volunteered their time to help out. We will do our best to make it a better event that more people can enjoy next time.
As for our academic studies, both of us are studying mainly polymer science. We aim to create high-functional and high-performance polymer materials.

2022年TISAウェルカムパーティーは、東京工業大学が主催し、TISAが運営を担当しました。TISA、SAGE、ACTIONが協力して企画し、蔵前工業会と学生支援課からご支援をいただきました。本イベントは毎学期開催されており、留学生の東工大コミュニティへの参加を目的としています。本イベントにより、おもてなしの心をすべての留学生に届け、歓迎されているという安心感を与えられれば幸いです。
これまではコロナの影響で開催できませんでしたが、パンデミックが収束に向かい、多くの留学生が日本に来ることができたので、2年ぶりにウェルカムパーティーの開催を決めました。コロナ対策による制限がありましたが、安全で楽しいパーティーを開催することができました。2022年ウェルカムパーティーには、新入生、在校生、スタッフ、卒業生など100人以上が参加し、たくさんの楽しいゲームや交流活動に加えて、お菓子とすばらしい賞品が用意されました。パーティーでは、益学長と蔵前工業会の井戸代表から歓迎のメッセージを頂き、参加者はゲームやダンス、タピオカドリンクを楽しみました。

「今回はTISAのウェルカムパーティーに参加させていただきました。初対面の外国人留学生達と同じグループになって最初はぎこちなかったのですが、運営側で用意してくれた様々なゲームをする間に自然に親しくなることができました。また、前回のイベントで会った他のTISAメンバーとも久しぶりに色んなお話ができて楽しかったです。TISAが開催する今後のイベントもぜひ参加したいと思いました。」
「留学生の方と関わりたくてこのレセプションパーティに参加しました。パーティではいくつかのグループに分けられ、そこで会話やミニゲームなどをして交流を深めることが出来ました。また、グループ以外にも自分から話しかけに行くことで交流の輪が広がったような感じがします。皆話しやすい気さくな方ばかりで、英語が多少苦手でもなんとかなりました。今後もこのような機会を積極的に活用していこうと思います。」

2年ぶりのTISA 対面イベントでした。コロナ禍での開催がなかなか難しかったですが，参加者が楽しんでくれたようでとても嬉しいです。参加者が今回のウェルカムパーティを通して友達を作り，その縁が今後の人脈作りに生かされることを願います。学生支援かと蔵前工業会の方より手厚い支援をいただきました。そしてボランティアとしてたくさん手伝ってくれたTISAメンバーと友達に心から感謝しています。
今回のような大人数のイベントを主催するのは初めての経験で、至らない点が多いと思いますが、次回より多くの人が楽しめる良いイベントにするように頑張りたいと思います。私たち学業では高分子科学を中心に勉強しています。高機能・高性能な高分子材料の創製を目指して研究に励んでいます。
